This is a lovely back pain exercise to try if you are very stiff and nervous about moving your back. Its one of the easiest back stretching exercises you can try.

Often when you have severe lower back pain it can feel quite frightening to begin moving your back. This back stretching exercise is nice as you can feel completely in control of the movement, and you can ease into the stretch gently. One of the most common causes of non-specific lower back pain is muscle spasm following a small joint strain. This stretching exercise eases out short tight, painful muscles, so if this is the problem you have you may find this helpful.

This exercise stretches the joints, ligaments and muscles in your lower back.
